Chapter 4: The Connected Learner
In the following, Chapter 4: The Connected Learner the main focus throughout was how important it is to build a collaborative culture. When it comes to building such it has a lot to do with relationships. It is important to establish positive relationships with people around you or it can have a negative effect on everyone. Though through the internet it makes it a little harder to establish such a relationship. Since the fact that you do not always know the tone or feelings of everyone around. Due to such it makes it even more important to express and make everyone aware. Which I can relate to because of this course being strictly online also from taking a couple other online courses before.
When it comes to how this could connect to my major and future career in the psychology field has a to do with it. I say this because in any psychology job it is extremely important to form connections. You need a strong positive relationship between yourself and the patient or else it will never succeed. Also you need positive relationships with your fellow co-workers, this way you can help each other. If you do not have a healthy relationship with co-workers it will make it very hard to work and learn from one another.

Hi Sarah, I’m also a psychology major and I totally agree with what you’re saying. In order to have a positive relationship with a client, client’s parents, or co-workers you must form a strong connection/ relationship with them that is based on trust. You want your client and their parent’s to be comfortable with you in order for them to take you seriously. As for co-workers, having a good relationship with them makes it so much easier when it comes to having to collaborate on a task. I enjoyed reading your blog post because it was something that I was able to relate to since we have the same major. We both had similar ideas when it came to the importance of building a collaborative culture in the psychology field.
