Website Good vs.Bad Smackdown

             For my website smackdown I chose to do Lakewood Church versus St. Barnabas Church. Lakewood Church is well known church that is based out of Houston, Texas. This church is known for being one of the largest in the United States. With having around 52 thousand attendees per week. With their well-known pastor, Joel Osteen and co-pastor, Victoria Osteen. They would change the way church could be viewed. Then St. Barnabas Church is Local church based out of Bayville, New Jersey. Lakewood Church would be my example of a good website. Then St. Barnabas Church would be my example of a bad website. Both website having to do with a church. Though the layout of the two are dramatically different.

            Why I viewed Lakewood church as the good is the way the entire website is set up. The website is very professional. You can tell right away that they put money and time into their website. The entire design is updated and meets that stands of this day and age. As soon as you go onto the website there is a video of different parts of their past services with a live countdown to next live viewing of a service. You can keep scrolling on the first page to more and more different information. You are able to not only connect through their website, but Tv, radio, and app. As if their home page did not have enough of options, you can go to their side page that breaks everything up into different slots. They have watch, connect, care, give, about Lakewood, service times, store and sign in. After clicking on each tab just continued to show how welly put together it is. Still carrying out the striking colors, videos, pictures and design as the cover page. There was not one bad thing I could say about their website!

            Why I viewed St. Barnabas church as the bad is due to the way their website was set up. The website was very poorly put together. With this being smaller local church there is a good chance that they had volunteer put their website together. The website is not up to date or to the standers of this age. The first thing I notice on this website is all their sponsors. There are no videos or multiple pictures show casing their church, but just a picture with their title over it. Their advertisements are larger than their own name. Their website has a very monotone theme as that does not change at all. There is not much to scroll upon on their home page either. Most of their website just seems like them asking for your money. It does not seem as inviting to go to.
