Chapter 5: The Connected Educator
In the following, Chapter 5: Connected Educatorthe main focus was the tools that we could use when trying to build and connect online. Though when it comes to tools, everyone just seems to use what they already know. I know for a fact that I am just as guilty of doing this. The point of this chapter is step out of your comfort zone and learn what is out there for you to use. You never know something you may have always needed could have been right in front of your face the entire time.
Just like in any profession you need to be organized and well put together. When you utilize specific tools it can help things run a lot smoother. It also helps show how professional and serious you are about your career. Especially in my field of wanting to become a therapist being organized is very important. Could you imagine going to see a therapist and them not having anything prepared, arranged, or neat. This could end in a very tragic and legal issues if a therapist did such a thing. Organization is a huge key due to having multiple patients and private information. I know if I went to see someone and they could not keep any of this in track I’d never go back.
What is a personal tool that you find or think would be helpful as a professional?

Sarah,
ReplyDeleteI think your point about everyone already knowing what they want out of tools, is interesting. In this modern technology age there is so much information people often want to search for information that already benefits their ideas regardless if that is correct or not. The same goes for technology tools. I also agree that it can be so beneficial to stay out of your comfort zone, especially because you might not know what's out there and there could be tools for what you want to do, to make your life even easier. I also agree that organization is key to success in almost every single profession. From calendars to offices, the more organized you are, the better your professional life will be.
To answer your question, for me I think that google calendars is one of the most important tools. It's essential for both students and professionals, keeping your tasks for the day, week, month, and year organized so you get them done.
